LCME stands for Liaison Committee on Medical Education, recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as the reliable authority for the accreditation of medical education programs leading to the MD degree. Accreditation by the LCME is the credentialing and quality assurance process to ensure that medical schools in the United States and Canada meet standards for educating physicians. The process also engages medical schools in an ongoing national dialogue about best practices and innovation.
The College of Medicine is preparing for its re-accreditation survey visit by the LCME in April 2018. All regional campuses are participating.
Peoria’s visit will be on April 17.
*Please note the visit to Peoria is one day earlier than first announced.
