Haelle

This talk will explore why vaccination is such a charged topic, the challenges of distinguishing between reliable science and misinformation, the anxiety of making the right decisions for our families, and the cognitive tricks that get in the way of interpreting that information.

Tara Haelle is a freelance science/health journalist who specializes in covering vaccines, pediatrics, women’s health, mental health and other medical research. She is a Forbes contributor whose work also appears in NPR, The New York Times, Medscape, Scientific American, and elsewhere. She recently published Vaccination Investigation: The History and Science of Vaccines and cowrote The Informed Parent: A Science-Based Guide to the First Four Years.

The Robert D. Hart, MD Endowed Lectureship was established in 2002 to honor the late Dr. Hart for his distinguished medical career. Income from this fund enables prominent scholars to enhance training and education of medical students, residents and practicing physicians in our community.
