This course is limited to UIUC departments and UIUC based System Office units completing the biennial inventory certification with the August 31, 2019 deadline. In this course, you will learn the process of conducting physical inventory and the steps in verifying the biennial inventory. You will access the Biennial Inventory system and load the inventory list. This course covers inventory policies and procedures and problem-solving. In addition, you will see how the Biennial Inventory mobile app can be used to help conduct physical inventory. The Biennial Inventory mobile app is an optional tool available for your unit-procured Android tablet or iPad. To request a download of the mobile app, email aitsmobiledevservice@uillinois.edu and in your request note which Biennial app you need – Android or iPad and include your email address, first name, and last name in your email request. You’ll get an email from AITS Mobile Dev Services when your access to the app has been set up. This course overviews all functionality of the new Biennial Inventory web-based application. Unit staff should attend the training together. If not attending together, unit contacts should load their inventory lists and assign the Unit Specialist role to their departmental staff prior to the training date. This allows participants access to their specific unit data during the training course. Loading lists and assigning roles are covered in lessons 2.5 and 2.6 of the FA 105 Training guide.
