Students are invited to join this Frank Center Student Workshop to learn more about newsgathering with Betsy Korona, an award-winning journalist and media executive with high-impact network, cable, and streaming experience. Most recently, she held the title of Senior Vice President of Editorial Newsgathering at NBC News & MSNBC, where she drove up-to-the-minute live reporting and in-depth, enterprise journalism.
Korona has produced and managed coverage of every major story over the last two decades, earning nearly a dozen Emmy nominations and winning Emmy and Murrow awards for coverage of the January 6th Capitol Attack. Her editorial and operational leadership has spanned nearly a dozen Presidential and midterm elections, the Ukraine War, the COVID pandemic, the border crisis, and countless natural disasters.
RSVP to Colleen King, clinical assistant professor of journalism and director of the Frank Center, at cck@illinois.edu.
Presented by the Richard and Leslie Frank Center for Leadership and Innovation in Media.
