Join the Roger Ebert Center for Film Studies for a screening of Spike Jonze’s award-winning film Her (2013). As a part of this year’s theme, “Artificial Intelligence Imagined and Realized,” Jonze’s film follows the solitary life of Theodore Twombly, played by Joaquin Phoenix, as he begins to use the AI chat technology Samantha, voiced by Scarlett Johansson, to come to terms with the break-up of his relationship. The film melds technology and the human condition through a quiet and moving journey of self-discovery.
This event is co-sponsored by the Institute of Communications Research at the College of Media.
