Charles "Stretch" Ledford

Stretch Ledford is an Associate Professor of Journalism at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and an affiliate of the Center for African Studies. A former international photojournalist, his award-winning work has appeared in the Atlantic, Newsweek, Smithsonian, and on NPR and NBC. With experience in over 55 countries, Dr. Ledford is recognized for his innovative approaches to visual storytelling and his commitment to fostering empathy through the media.
