On Feb. 12, Illinois Soul and the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts welcome acclaimed saxophonist Chris Greene, an artist respected across genres and generations. His résumé includes performances with Common, The Temptations, and Midnight Sun. Though he appeared on the TV series “Empire,” he has always prioritized musical excellence and community impact, earning him the Mayor’s Award for the Arts from the Evanston Arts Council. His Uncorked set blends jazz, soul, and funk with precision and purpose.
Following each Uncorked event, Illinois Soul will continue the night at Gallery Art Bar, 119 W. Main St., Urbana, for the Illinois Soul Certified Organic Jam Sessions, featuring tributes to D'Angelo, Angie Stone, and more.
