Itch Triggers and Nutrition: Managing Food Allergies in Dogs and Cats

We are pleased to invite you to a free live webinar featuring Dr. Clarissa Souza from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Date: Tuesday, November 17, 2026
Time: 3:00 – 4:00 PM CT
Format: Live Online Webinar

Dr. Clarissa Souza is a board-certified veterinary dermatologist (DACVD) and professor at the University of Illinois. After earning her veterinary degree in Brazil, she completed advanced training in dermatology, including a fellowship at the University of Minnesota and a dermatology residency combined with a master’s program at Colorado State University. Since joining the University of Illinois in 2018, Dr. Souza has focused her clinical and research efforts on ear diseases, allergies, and antimicrobial stewardship in small animals.

Food allergies and other allergic skin conditions are among the most common causes of chronic itching and discomfort in dogs and cats. In this session, Dr. Souza will discuss the role of nutrition in the diagnosis and management of food allergies, how dietary elimination trials are used in practice, and the latest approaches to helping pets achieve long-term relief from itch.
