Artist Talk: Ronny Quevedo in Conversation with Amy L. Powell and Allyson PurpuraDate & Time: Thursday, September 11, 2025, 5:30–7:00 PMVenue: Lower Level Auditorium (KAM 62), Krannert Art Museum, University of Illinois Urbana‑ChampaignAdmission: Free
Join New York–based artist Ronny Quevedo for a compelling discussion of his solo exhibition Ronny Quevedo: a l l s t a r s, on view at Krannert Art Museum through December 6, 2025. The exhibition features a dynamic collection of drawings gathered from across the United States, alongside a monumental, site-specific sculpture titled a mother’s hand, presented in dialogue with the museum’s pre‑Hispanic Andean art collection. In conversation with KAM curators Amy L. Powell and Allyson Purpura, Quevedo will explore themes of abstraction, identity, cultural memory, and the interplay between personal and cultural histories—drawing on his Ecuadorian heritage and blending influences from cartography, sports imagery, and traditional Andean iconographies.
This event is part of the School of Art & Design Visitors Series and is generously supported by the Francis P. Rohlen Fund, with additional support from the Illinois Arts Council.
